I am planning a trip for my wife and myself and wanted some real opinions about travel to Asia.
I've been told that the weather is about the same compared to the east coast, so what's really the best of the year to go? Of course, the off-peak fares extend from about October to April, so that's what I'm hoping for. Ideal spots for us now are China, Japan, and maybe Taiwan. Of course if you have tips about other regions (like Malasia, etc), that'd be great, too!
Additionally, what's a good travel route? We have never been to that side of the world and would appreciate an overview of how to best see as much as you can touristy and unique culture in about two weeks. We live in Manhattan so seing cities like Tapei sounds fun, but shouldn't be long.
I don't expect a book, but I do expect more than just a copy/paste from a website. I would like some personal experience on the subject not just repeating wikipedia or some other source.
I've opened the query for a long time, but I might close it early if a good expert shows up!
