My 3 year old female brindle bull dog has developed a very odd type of hair loss--alopecia--positioned on her right-hand side, approximately on her rib cage. This situation was not noticed for sometime, because the hair loss area is right on top of a dark spot in her brindle colouration. I have tried a number of very good, natural, and benign shampoos, as well as, liquid food additives for her coat--with some seasonal changes, I have noticed some regrowth, however, it never goes away entirely and has recently come back at its' original level! I feed her an all natural potatoe and fish food, with no animal bi-products--the coat additive contains flax oils,Vit. E, garlic, etc.(I think it stinks, myself--she seems to love it) |
