PROBLEM 1 (Decade Counter Design – Using GAL and the WinCUPL software)
Design a counter to display the 5 phases (S, 1, 2, 3, E ) of a production process on a 7-segment LED display, in line with the phase transition pulses (P), as indicated in the diagram below.


(b) Modify the final equations to incorporate a reset pulse into the system, so that the counter will be cleared to the Start on the next input clock pulse (while the reset is active), as indicated in the diagram above.

(c) Modify the reset system so that the reset pulse can clear the counter without requiring a clock pulse P from the system.

(d) Simulate the system in WinCUPL and produce timing diagrams to verify the system.

(e) Program a GAL20V8 chip and test it.
